ABII Certification

The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) was founded in 2007 by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Review the October 31, 2007 joint SIIM/ARRT press release announcing the new ABII Board of Trustees.

An independent, non-profit organization, ABII's mission is to enhance patient care, professionalism and competence in imaging informatics. ABII has created and manages the Imaging Informatics Professional (IIP) certification program and awards the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) designation to qualified candidates.

Certification Examination

Applications will open on Thursday, October 15, 2009 for the IIP exam that is scheduled for Friday, March 26, 2010. Interested imaging informatics professionals should visit www.abii.org for more information and to determine eligibility for the exam. Registration concludes on January 20, 2010, for the March 26th exam to be held at Pearson Vue testing centers in the United States and Canada. For each exam, space is limited to the first 100 registrants.
